How to make CMB maps from huge timelines with small computers

چکیده
We present in this article two different ways to make CMB maps in practice, from large timelines. One is to make a simple destriping, fitting the data and using the scan intercepts to remove the low frequency noise (stripes). The second, optimal, is to resolve linearly the map-making problem, which in case of big timelines must be simplified and changed from matrices to vectors for the calculations. Assuming few conditions on the noise, it is possible to make fast map-making tools.

Noise power spectrum estimation and fast map making for CMB experiments
We present a method designed to estimate the noise power spectrum in the time domain for CMB experiments. The noise power spectrum is extracted from the time ordered data avoiding the contamination coming from sky signal and accounting the pixellisation of the signal and the projection of the noise when making intermediate sky projections. This method is simple to implement and relies on Monte-...

The next generation of CMB experiments can measure cosmological parameters with unprecedented accuracy — in principle. To achieve this in practice when faced with such gigantic data sets, elaborate data analysis methods are needed to make it computationally feasible. An important step in the data pipeline is to make a map, which typically reduces the size of the data set my orders of magnitude....
متن کاملSimulation of Cosmic Microwave Background Polarization Fields for AMiBA Experiment
We have made a topological study of cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization maps by simulating the AMiBA experiment results. A ΛCDM CMB sky is adopted to make mock interferometric observations designed for the AMiBA experiment. CMB polarization fields are reconstructed from the AMiBA mock visibility data using the maximum entropy method. We have also considered effects of Galactic foregr...
متن کاملMaking maps from Planck LFI 30 GHz data with asymmetric beams and cooler noise
The Planck satellite will observe the full sky at nine frequencies from 30 to 857 GHz. Temperature and polarization frequency maps made from these observations are prime deliverables of the Planck mission. The goal of this paper is to examine the effects of four realistic instrument systematics in the 30 GHz frequency maps: non-axially-symmetric beams, sample integration, sorption cooler noise,...
